The network of educational institutions Astor School announced the start of fundraising for the reconstruction of its destroyed school in Irpin.
Education is an inalienable right of the child, enshrined in a number of international documents, including those ratified by Ukraine. Today it is especially important to think about the resumption of the educational process in Ukrainian schools, which was disrupted as a result of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
More than 400 schools across the country were destroyed by the aggressor country. Unfortunately, the Astor School in Irpin is no exception. In peacetime, the school was attended by more than 450 children from Irpin, Bucha, Bilohorodka and other settlements. But as a result of the shelling, the building was severely damaged. To restore the educational process from the beginning of the school year, funds for repairs are needed.
We call on international foundations and all concerned to help the Astor School administration renovate the building so that children who are already returning with their parents to Irpin, Bucha and other settlements of Kyiv region could start studying in their classrooms from September 1. We will engrave the names of all those who help on the windows as a sign of respect and gratitude.
We need to think about the future of our children, which the aggressor country ruthlessly wants to destroy.
